Meet Our coaches

Tatum McBryde is the head coach of NLCC. She homeschools her daughter Lochlyn and has coached cheerleading for 7 years. Tatum is the pastor’s wife at New Lebanon Church, where our practices are held. She values attitude over athletic ability and wants each member of the squad to try their best. Her favorite components of cheerleading are dances and stunts! She is a Rockingham County native who loves God, animals, & traveling with her family.

Tatum McBryde- Head Coach

Vanessa became a coach to keep the program alive for her daughter and the team, never expecting how much joy and fulfillment it would bring. As a former Army NCO, she brings leadership, discipline, and encouragement, helping the girls push past fear, try new skills, and believe in themselves.

She supports wherever needed, from spotting stunts to behind-the-scenes work, but her favorite part of coaching is watching the girls grow in confidence and strength. The hugs and thank-yous from the athletes remind her why she’s here—to help them become who God created them to be.

Outside of cheer, Vanessa juggles homeschooling, financial coaching, and co-op leadership, but being part of this team is one of her most unexpected and rewarding roles.

Natalie Collins is a School Resource Officer in Rockingham County, NC, serving with the Sheriff’s Department. With a lifelong passion for tumbling and gymnastics, she is excited to bring her skills to the team, helping the girls build confidence, master new tumbling techniques, and, most importantly—have fun!

Natalie began gymnastics at the age of 4 and transitioned to tumbling and trampoline at 8, where she went on to compete at nationals by the age of 12, continuing through 16. Her experience in competitive tumbling, combined with her love for working with kids, makes her a dedicated and encouraging coach.

She looks forward to helping each athlete grow, thrive, and push past their limits during their time on the team.
